Most of the Science Building’s ground floor is dedicated to the vast topic of energy.
Our fascinating water world invites you to get your hands wet, to dam up, lift and pump water and to make use of the power inside it.
A large high-level tank is at the centre of all experiments on hydrostatic pressure. Water flowing from this tank is used to power various turbines, which are designed for sustained production of electricity under different conditions. Different generators and a transformer complete the chapter on electricity from water power.
Several interactive exhibits present both the technology and application of photovoltaics. One of these is a working photovoltaics system on the roof of the Science Building. The power output is displayed in the Science Center.
A large lifting platform was built for our visitors to lift themselves – effortlessly – and experience directly the technology behind power transmission by hydraulics.
