'Haus der Natur' - Nature Museum and Competence Centre
The Haus der Natur (founded in 1924) is the local natural history museum of Salzburg. It houses a large exhibition about all aspects of nature, a Science Center, an aquarium and a reptile-zoo. With our exhibitions we attempt to inspire our visitors, to stimulate their interest in the natural world and to enhance their understanding for natural processes. As a Nature competence centre the Haus der Natur plays an important role in the scientific exploration and documentation of nature in Salzburg.
Admission hours & entrance fees
Opening hours:
Daily, including Sundays and bank holidays, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Entrance fees:
The Haus der Natur is dedicated to calculating family-friendly admission fees.
- adults: € 7,50
- children (4 years+): € 5,00
Family-tickets:
- 1 parent + 1 child: € 11,50
- 2 parents + 1 child: € 18,50
- each additional child: € 4,50
Reduced rates for:
- seniors citizens (60+, with ID card): € 7,00
- disabled persons: € 6,00
- handicaped child: € 3,00
- Groups (more than 10 persons): € 7,00 per person
Special rates for adolescents:
- students and apprentices (up to 27 years), Austrian National Service (with ID card): € 5,00
- school groups: € 3,50 per student
Special rates apply with certain museum educational services.
One-year tickets
- Adults: € 28,00
- Senior citizens: € 24,00
- children (4 years+), students (up to 27 years), Austrian National Service: € 16,00
The one-year tickest is valid from 1. Jannuary until 31. December. If you are interested please send an e-mail to: office@hausdernatur.at with your personal details: name and surname, address, birth-date.

The Haus der Natur is a partner of "Salzburger Familienpass" and "Salzburg Card".
Reduced rates for parents and their children listed in the "Salzburger Familienpass":
- 1 parent + 1 child: € 8,50
- 2 parents + 1 child: € 14,50
- each additional child: € 2,50
Visitors get free admission on producing the Salzburg Card.
In the interest of visitor safety and our zoo animals dogs are unfortunately not allowed. Disabled persons are welcome to bring their guide dogs!
